St. John School Parent Organization
St. John the Evangelist Catholic School’s Parent Organization (SJPO) is dedicated to enhancing the holistic well-being of students—mind, body, and spirit—through engaging activities that promote academic, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. Grounded in our unity in Christ, SJPO actively collaborates with teachers and parents, fostering a positive school culture and strengthening the home-school relationship.
The SJPO is composed of President Leticia Aguilar, along with designated room parents and co-room parents from each class in grades K-8, exclusively limited to those fulfilling the role of room parents. Attendance at the monthly meetings is mandatory for room parents, and a commitment of 50 volunteer hours is expected from both room parents and co-room parents. Their crucial roles involve close collaboration with homeroom teachers and parents on various school and parish-related projects throughout the academic year. These projects include:
- Fundraisers
- Fiesta
- Field trips
- Class celebrations
- Family Mass
- Maintaining effective communication with parents
- Coordinating volunteers
We extend an open invitation to all families to actively engage in various opportunities facilitated by SJPO. Details regarding volunteer opportunities can be found at the school office. For parents who are not serving as room or co-room parents, attendance at SJPO meetings fulfills 2 volunteer hours. SJPO meetings are typically scheduled on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM, except in the case of a holiday, in which the meeting will be rescheduled for the following Tuesday.
